Should I go up another size on my ears?

I think they look cute. I have one concern though.. If you stretch them out that far will they shrink back if you decide you don't want them anymore? I had a friend who had a tiny gauge in high school, but then she decided not to go bigger because she wanted a professional career. If they shrink back go for it. But if not you might want to think it over a little more.
