Is it possible to send a manned mission to Mercury?

Mercury has huge differences in temperature between the day and night side, but at the polar ice caps no sunlight ever reaches and the ice stays frozen, would it be possible to land a spaceship at a high northern latitude up near the pole, would there be a zone somewhere between the scorching heat of the equator (about 700K) and the freezing temperature at the pole (about 100K) that humans could land, maybe explore for a while,maybe even plant a flag like they did on the moon, and take off and return safely to earth, uming that they always stayed in the shadow of Mercury so that they were not exposed to the heat of the sun?
